Howdy, I’m Erika Edwards and I am the creatress behind Akire Apparel. Akire was dreamt up in early 2020 when I created a tee-shirt for myself for a music festival using my iPad and & iron on transfer. Having many requests about where my tee was from, I knew I had to explore this avenue of my creativity. Well, fast forward through a global lockdown, & birthing 2 children, plus a whole lot of messy moments of grief & blossoms of blinding love spanning over almost 6 years! I have finally arrived at a time where I am digging my heels in deep to make it all happen!
I am a lifelong artist who finds joy in bringing the ideas & visions in my mind to life with the many mediums I use. Be it acrylics, oils, watercolour, gouache, texture, pencil, graphite & clay, in realism, surrealism & loose, figurative styles.
Now, I am not only producing more pieces of work than ever; I am bringing them to a new medium; t-shirts. So, you can adorn yourself in art that dares to be different; turning the everyday into a canvas of imagination. I make designs that dance across the fabric & elicit joy & wander into your wardrobe.
These aren’t just basic t-shirts, the fit, cut & design are all carefully selected to stand out and provide options for all tastes, sizes & ages. Most tee shirts have various colours to choose from on their product pages to allow you more choice in how you wear my art.
Each order placed is made to order to ensure no waste in production & shipped directly from my manufacturer, using biodegradable packaging, to ensure no double shipping/postage, ultimately eliminating it’s ecological footprint on the journey to finding its’ way to your wardrobe.
It goes without saying that this is a small, solely owned business. So every purchase made truly means the world to me in the endeavour to support myself & my children in this crazy world.
